Le fait du jour – Matin / matinée

Matin / matinée : it’s easier to see the “activity” concept (see Monday’s blog) in these as the word matinée is used in English for an activity: going to the theatre (unfortunately it takes place in the afternoon, but …).

Example:

  • Je travaille mieux le matin.
  • Nous t’avons attendu toute la matinée.

Over to you: How do you say the following in French?

  • Every morning she goes to work at 7.
  • Miss woodhouse spent the morning thinking of her friend.

Réponse à la question d’hier :

  • Venez me voir ce soir, dans le bois…
  • Elle passe ses soirées devant la télé.
