Le fait du jour – certains

Les adjectifs indéfinis

The French word «certains» / «certaines»  means “some” (as in “and I could name them”, as opposed to “some” translated by «des»). It is often found in sentences with «d’autres» (others): Certains candidats promettent la lune, d’autres candidats l’autérité.

Traduire en français:

  • Some people will vote for François Hollande, other people for Nicolas Sarkozy.
  • Some candidates will continue the campaign for the second round.
  • Nathalie Arthaud had some votes.
  • Some Le Pen votes could transfer to Hollande.

Réponse à la question d’hier :

  • Chaque candidat a recueilli 500 signatures.
  • Tous les candidats ont eu la même quantité de temps à la radio.
  • La télé a donné le même temps à chaque opinion politique.

Dimanche toutes les mairies étaient ouvertes.
